So this has progressed nicely - found I could release the springs from the neg carrier and it will drop enough to work on it. Found a non-glass 4x5 carrier that matches the 4 pins of my glass carrier and drilled the pins out - the glass carrier snaps into it. Then drilled and tapped that so fasten it to the neg stage. The plywood was drilled on a drill press to work as a template and a guide for the drill, so my holes would be vertical.

And I'll be damned, seems to work fine, I'll get out some RC and do some 16x20 equivalent registration tests. Wish I could afford a fancy pin-register setup, but this will do for now!
