I have some colour negatives from the 1970's I want to scan them, but the colour dyes have faded, the red channel is pretty good, the green is okay, but the blue channel is almost completely missing.

I don't mind converting to B&W, just wondering what is the best way to scan these to get the best image, some look okay, some are awful.

Hi,
Try this KODAK DIGITAL ROC Professional Plug-In
http://asf.com/products/plugins/rocpro/pluginROCPRO/
It can clip highlights and such, but i've developed a workaround using a 10-point grayscale and mapping the values to a curves adjustment layer, then tweaking the curves, then applying this adjustment layer to a raw scan

Nice plugin, was hoping to not have to spend CA$ 133 though, on negatives that are 30 years old, and many of them are not that good.
