I may have a chance to get an old Aztec Plateau flatbed scanner 10-15 years old. Would you go with the old Aztec or buy and new Epson V850? I'll be scanning 8x10 wet plates...The Aztec probably did better scans at one point or may still..... Thanks. Joe.

I have an older cousin the Epson V-700 for years and it's a great scanner. If the Epson V850 is somewhat the same as my V-700, I've scanned 8x10 negs with the mask it comes with. I think the only difference is the V850 uses LED lighting and my old V700 uses fluorescent tubes which requires warmup time before scanning.

I can't comment on the Aztec scanner.
