scanning instant film negatives

I just shot a pack of Fuji 100c instant film on my rb67, and I have reclaimed the negatives with the bleach method. I am wondering if anyone has any tips for scanning them? I have a v700 with the standard film holders and I don't think the film will fit in any of them. Will I have to use the film area guide or has someone found a solution?

I've long been intrigued by this. In my experience it is very difficult. The negative you get will be very thin and quite low in colour information.

I always use warm water for the rinse part where I'm rubbing off the development chemicals gunk. It may be possible that if you use cold water (and a lot more patience) you end up rubbing off less of the actual emulsion and get a better result. Anyway, try it and let us know!

thanks Sam. I tried scanning a negative last night. With a little bit of trimming the long edge fit the short dimension of the V700's 4x5 film holder. I had to press lightly on the film to keep it from curling while I closed the edges of the film holder, but the negative remained pretty flat once it was locked in. I didn't find I had too much trouble scanning it the same way I scan other colour negatives. Attached is the file from the scanner - it has been cropped and resized but nothing else has been done (I will colour correct it and clean it up in LR). I scanned it at full scanner res (6400dpi) which made it initially a 552 MP file. It definitely still looks like instant film.
