The problem is Most likely Myself, and the lack of understanding of how each program enteracts with others? I have just gotten a used Microtek scanmaker 8700 ,used but fill's my needs as I see them, at this time !

I can get the scanner to do flatbed scans and foto scan's and I can get it to do film reversal (slide) but the most disturbing problem is when, I import the scaned file in to Photoshop Elements 5 , I can not for the life of figure out how to get the foto or fotos to drop down to be processed / i have try-ed drag and drop of the slide and not able to make it work:confused:

My software is = Photoshop Elements # 5 version 5.02 ans scanner software is Scan Wizard 5 for windows Version 6.32 dated 09/28/2007 and
I also have Lightroom 1.02, windows home service pack 2 XP:

Either I do not totally fathom what I need to do or there is a kink in the set up:

I bought the scanner used aqnd I need to bend some ones ear to get this up and running:

Any thoughts or proper running information or where to get proper insructions would be appreciated VERY much:

If I understand your situation correctly, it might a problem with the way you have set up your processing workflow. Here are a couple of thoughts that might help based on how I scan (not saying that it would the most efficient, but it works). Initiate your scanner session from the desktop, not as a plugin on Photoshop. Secondly, assuming you are using Windows, setup folders for your images in the 'My Pictures' directory. Save the scanned image to the folder you have designated. Use the OPEN command in Photoshop Elements to bring the image in for further processing. Hope this will work for you, and hope I have confused the issue further.
