I have 3 scanners, Epson V500, V700, and a Plustek 7600i that will run on my Win 10 Pro installation.
I scanned a Ektrachrome slide from 1993 on all 3 scanners as follows
Epsonscan professional mode, No Color Correction, 6400 dpi for the Epsion scanners as that is their stated optical limit.
Vuescan 9.7.27 64 bit at 6400 dpi for the Epson scanners, 7200 dpi for the Plustek, its optical limit.
Es-Epsonscan; Ncc-no color correction
Vs-Vuescan, raw raw scanner scan.
Each edited in Photoshop CS 5.1 for best overall appearance on my laptop's high resolution screen.
I have uploaded all images to my Google drive. Any reader is free to view or download any of the images to edit or compare on their computer. The slide looks better on a light table than the scans do IMO.

I don't care about 3rd party scan test results or if you don't find them useful so please do not post this type of comments.
A Nikon D300 W/ a AF Nikkor 60mm f2.8 Macro will be added to the google drive folder for comparison.

I get a "Couldn't preview file. The file is too large to preview" response when I try to view the files.

Full frame D300 added to the mix. Converted from raw to tif in Nikon Capture NX-D at 16 bit tif.
File sizes are huge!
V500 and V700 are 258mb to 276mb, the Plustek files 346mb, and the D300 148mb.
Preview without download is not possible, my mistake. The D300 does preview.

Which means that one has to download and install software to view.

Something that might be useful would be to compress the scans to the size of a 15mb jpeg. Then, if the scans are indistinguishable then they are effectively indistinguishable for sharing images on the internet.

I'm using Windows 10
Windows OS will not need viewing software.

The V500 should be the same as a V550 or V600 as the transparency area is all that changed and possibly a minor refinement in the software.
This is aimed at those looking for a scanner.
This is what I see when I click on a file:

For clarity, I'm reluctant to download the files themselves.

Once downloaded Windows viewer will open them, online I don't know what will work.

Edit:
I duplicated each image in PS then reduced the resolution by 50% and uploaded them to the folder on my google drive. Color profile was not embeded in the scans nor applied to the adjusted images. The D300 is sRGB.

I look forward to looking at this. I currently own 2 similar scanners, an Epson V600 and PlusTek 8200, but am thinking about upgrading the V600 for a higher-end scanner for medium format scanning and look forward to seeing how much of a difference is present. Unfortunately, your download is blocked on my work computer, so I'll have to try at home.

One suggestion for your test would be to scan on all three scanners using VueScan to take software differences out of the equation. I have never been a big fan of EpsonScan, and that program no longer works on the current Mac OS, and it's replacement, EpsonScan 2 is a definite step backwards.
