I'm using a Microtek 120TF for 35mm & 120 with silverfast.
Silverfast has generic film profiles that are outdated but it get's me close.
I recently have been importing the tiff in Lightroom # and was quite impressed with the control I was getting.
W/B is just more intuitive for me in LR than it is in Silverfast.
There is probably some color variation compared to a C print but I think I'll be going this way more.
I scan to include as much info as possible without clipping highlights or crushing the blacks then treat it as a raw file in LR3.
What software are you using? I use the same scanner with ColorQuartet 4 on a PC and have finally figured out how to get decent scans from color negatives. I'll see if I can document my steps.
The problem is, how to know if the color negs scanned good enough, i may scan on different scanners and maybe getting different closer results but then which one will be the most correct or accurate one?!!!
I did scan many color negs on my V750, i had one shot of Reala came out amazing and love it, the most of rest wasn't bad but not as good as that one frame i scanned.
Worst part of Microtek is a Neg Film Holder . Silverfast has outdated profiles and and funny menu . I like ScanWizard better . You can create own film profles .
