Hello again folks.
I have a favourite neg ,taken in 1970 (35mm,FP4) ,when my processing skills were fairly rudimentary, which is showing signs of silvering around the emulsion edges.
Can any wise heads suggest a safe way to either halt or reverse this deterioration ?
Thanks.
One warning. Make the best copy you can before you do anything that involves wetting the negative itself. This can either be a positive or negative copy. Obviously if you can get a transparency from it, you can later get a negative. You might even consider (avert your eyes at this point if you are sensitive to bad words) scanning it.
Can give you the same advise: First make a duplicate from it before you do anything with the original negative.
Dupe on high resolution film (polyester) would be the best. (Copex or Imagelink).
