saunders lpl 6x7

I got one of these and am having trouble setting up the the counterbalance for the head. anyone out here have one of these and can either post a photo or explain how to properly connect this.

Saunders/LPL made a number of 6x7 enlargers, but they mostly follow a similar build. If you pop off the plastic top from your enlarger column there should be a slot for you to attach the end of the counter balance spring to and screw it in place. It is sometimes easier to mount the head on with the parts separated (only the main attachment and lower negative carrier slot, without the mixing box or lamp house), then attach the tape spring, and when locked in place, to finally assemble the head to completion.
