Saunders 200-100 negative carrier blues

I have a great enlarger that came with the Saunders 200-100 universal negative carrier but I have no clue how to use the carrier, it appears to come with 4 metal b ars what do I do with these?

Hi, you slide the bars to mask off any extra light from around the image area of the negative.
