The v-track looks good but I'm assuming that once the easel is down, then you can't move the blades at all... which I know you're not supposed to do. However, the clutch drive easels lets you adjust the blade's position once the easel is down (again not recommended, but doesn't seem to bother it).

Has anyone had been able to compare the 2 different models?

I've got a 11x14 and 16x20 V Track. These are fabulous easels. I have the standard Saunders 20x24, they are all great. I would definitely recommend the V Track model if you can find one at a reasonable price.

Thanks the reply mshchem, what are the differences (pros and cons) between them?

That's a good question. I used a Saunders UA 1417 forever, this was Saunders original product, I got mine in the early 80's, it worked and I'm sure still is working great. The VT models are more robust, the blades are not as "floppy". My 20x24 doesn't see much use as I don't print that large much.
Everything that Saunders made was superb, the V track models, made in Rochester New York, in my opinion, the best easel Saunders made.
