Just finished reading Jonathan Franzen's "The End of the End of the Earth".... Franzen is a very well known essayist and novelist. He talks a lot about photography in several of his essays. One of those essays is titled Sarah Stolfa (who is a prominent Philadelphia photographer).
Franzen also talks about what I consider the difference between photographic "art" and photographs of beauty...
That all relates to punk (which I'm not able to appreciate) and Sarah Stolfa's work (which ain't beautiful online). And it relates to my disinterest in photos of beautiful scenery (I'm a hiker and explorer). And it does relate to Philadelphia and art.
I hope you will read some of Franzen's work. He's also an avid bird watcher
