Santa Fe area in February

I am going to be in Santa Fe starting the middle of February and will have two and one half days before my workshop for photography. Thinking about renting a car and being out of the city for that time. Any suggestions of locations that are both interesting and accessible that time of the year. Subject interests includes old buildings especially delapitated ones (industrial, farmsteads, adobe) churches and cemeteries and landscapes. Shooting medium format mostly black and white but not exclusively
Never been to the Southwest so do not know what to expect. Will also have a little over a day after workshop to work out of Santa Fe itself.

The good news is there is plenty of stuff to shoot out here. The bad news is there is plenty of stuff to shoot out here!
You could probably spend a whole day(or two) just shooting historic churches in Santa Fe... there are probably 100 ghost towns to explore, many of which have never been photographed.
Organ Pipes, sawtooth mountains, bisti wilderness, indian ruins, white sands, ghost ranch, and I doubt I have scratched the surface.
Another challenge are the vast distances out here, so you might spend 5 hours on the road and two photographing.

Go to Ojo Caliente Spa and get yourself massage and use the hot springs!
About an hour from Santa Fe.

What about driving over to Taos? I suppose it depends on how often you get out to N.M.

1st day:
In Downtown: St Francis basilica, Loretto church. The area around the plaza is small, so it will take about half of a day to finish shooting.
Around noon drive to Bandelier national park. The light is better in the afternoon (about 40 miles from SF)


2nd day:
Las Trampas and Chimayo churchers are very nice, definitely worth visiting. Take highway 76 going to Chimayo/las trampas. It is a small road that starts in Espanloa (if you are driving from santa fe). There is an intersection with McDonalds on the left handside. Make right on that intersection.

Taos pueblo - same general direction (afternoon)

3rd day (half day)
take 475 highway toward the mountains, do to 1000 waves spa and enjoy )

You're in luck, there's snow this year!

No desire to see snow, I have seen enough in my life every month of the year at one time or another although we only have a skiff of it now. The snow will allow a different perspective of the area but as it is my first time to New Mexico and at this rate in my life it will be in 2063 before my next visit if I go every 56 years any perspective will be new to me.
