Samrtphone editing

Hi!

I'm mostly a film shooter, but I finally got a smartphone, a samsung galaxy s2, and have been having a rather wonderful time snapping photos with the vsco cam. I'm quite shocked at how good the photos actually are. So I have 2 questions.
1. Would you recommend importing the photos into photoshop and editing there or just editing on phone?
2. Knowing nothing about digital printing, for ease of seeing some of my shots in print, is society6 a good place to get archival quality prints?

I shoot film too but carry a Samsung S4 which I use because it's handy. https://www.flickr.com/photos/alanklein2000/tags/s4/
The third was edited in camera but the others edited in Lightroom. To answer your questions, it really depends on what you're going to do with them. For the internet, the camera might be good enough. However, if you want to print archivally, I would think a post processing program would be better, more flexible, etc. I don't know about society6. Good luck.

There are two "schools" of thought on this, those who process within the device itself, and then of course those who download to the computer and go from there.


I do all my processisng within the phone as that is what i find to be the most fun. It is amazing what apps can do. Check out Snapseed. When i first started using that app it was $4.99, now it is free.

WHen i print I rarely print anything large, file size on 8.5x11 paper.

the sensor on a phone is very , very small and they do look great on the device, but it is tricky to print large images.

Why not test out the different methods and do what you find works the best for you.

Depends on how important it is, and by definition, iPhone photos tend not to be too important, but I like being able to edit on the iPhone. I don't know what apps you have for the Galaxy, but for editing on the iPhone I like Filterstorm, Photo fx, PS Express, Mill Colour, and I used to use Photogene, but I think Filterstorm is better now.
