... and now that I'm using my computer in the darkroom from time-to-time, I downloaded the free f.lux app which has a "darkroom mode." Works well when printing if you turn the screen brightness down as well. There's even a key-combination toggle (alt+shift+end) for getting in and out of darkroom mode easily.

Best,

Doremus

Very interesting. Has anyone done a fog test with this?

Yep. That's why I turned down the brightness on my computer screen. The screen isn't always on, and paper isn't always out when it is, and the computer is far away from the enlarger and developer tray, but I like not having to deal with the bright, blue-lit screen when consulting data or record keeping while printing. I suggest you do your own safelight test with your set-up.

As for the iPhone app: it doesn't fog paper during the occasional phone call that I really need to answer when printing.

Best,

Doremus

Maybe this has been posted before, but I just found it.

Here's an easy way to set up a red (or any other color for that matter) screen on your iPhone for darkroom use.

No more panic when the phone rings in the darkroom (at least when printing... tray developing film is another story).

Cut some Rubylith down to the 'right' size and 'carefully' press it onto the iPhone's screen
