I've had my photography represented in a number of bricks and mortar galleries over the years. That's all fine but I want to start utilizing the online gallery model. So I am wondering if any of you are using Saatchi Art and if so what success have you had.

Stumbled across a local photographer who uses Saatchi Art as a way of claiming he's "represented by" Saatchi Art" ...which not the famous Saatchi Gallery.

Saatchi Gallery is selective about representation. Saachi Art simply requires payment of cash by its artists/photographers.

I was not familiar with Saatchi Art. I went to the website. They offer more than 588,000 photographs. I wonder what they do to promote your photographs. Do they just include your photographs on their website with the other 588,000+ photographs?

Thanks but I'm not really interested in peoples opinions who have not used the service.

I will shortly be meeting with a longtime friend who mentions Saatchi Art on her website along with a half dozen additional online resources. I'll ask her about this next week and will report back.

Not incidentally, she has sold her paintings ever since she left RIT...around 50 years. I think her success has to do with the beauty of her art...which began long before internet.

The odds are probably similar to Instagram and praying for rain.

Roamed Saatchi Art and poked the perhaps-dozen photo mags (quarterly) and photo websites with very different names that are advertised. It's not clear where Saatchi Art fits into this complexity.

Reminds me of the sadly departed Zoom magazine. (Zoom was Swiss-printed, American/European edited, collectable quality, and not at all similar to Aperture or View Camera mag). Zoom had very few ads and wasn't promoting anything, was theme oriented. https://www.saatchiart.com/theotherartfair

Amazing stuff. Mostly color, though it does promote two B&W photo mags I've not notice previously.

Focus is photography as imagery ( i.e. not hardware/darkroom/hobbies).

Not a chatroom, does incidentally invite contributions (positioned as quarterly competition), has a component that sells moderately priced prints, doesn't tout equipment, has no ads (except for subscriptions).

I think I was a little too negative and didn't fully understand what Saatchi Art was about. Sorry.
