I've got a 110 2.8 sekor z lens that needs servicing, the shutter won't fire when the shot is taken and the camera beeps, has anyone had this problem and where to send it to be fixed? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Alan, check page 20 of your instruction book to find out why this could be happening. It could be something as simple as needing a new battery.I've got a 110 2.8 sekor z lens that needs servicing, the shutter won't fire when the shot is taken and the camera beeps, has anyone had this problem and where to send it to be fixed? Check the cable release socket on the side of the lens. If it gets stuck out that'll happen.
If using a cable release on the lens after firing the main shutter solves the problem, that's your issue.
Look at the socket where the cable release goes into the lens. If some metal socket sticks out and shows a red ring, then the camera/lens thinks that you have a cable release attached and the camera won't fire the shutter itself.Looks like thats it!I can fire the shutter on the lens after the cameras shutter operates.Any ideas as to how to unstick the lens shutter?

Sometimes this metal socket stays out although you removed the cable release. In this case just reinsert the cable release until it sits tight, then unscrew it again. As you unscrew the cable release, the metal socket should move back in.
On my 110 lens, sometimes the cable release collar will stay extended, even after I have removed the cable release. I usually need to reinsert the release and then take it out again; sometimes I need to do this a couple of times. When this happens and I do not notice it, when I go to fire the camera from the body release I have the same problem you are having. It may not be the problem with your camera, but it is the first "simple" thing to check.
