I just purchased the AE Prism II used from KEH. No manual. Does someone have the pages they can scan for me? Or can someone tell me how to use this?

I found the original model manual online, however, there are definitely some different things about the latest model that aren't covered. Specificly...

  • What does the switch closest to the eyecup do?
  • What does A vs. AEL do?

Did you check Mamiya's webpage? They are usually good about having PDFs for their equipment. I have the same prism, sans a manual, but I haven't needed to use it because I use a Pentax Spotmeter.

The switch closest to the eyepiece on mine is a shutter to keep light out if you don't have your eye up to the eyepiece.

A evaluates exposure when you release the shutter.
AE evaluates exposure when you half press the shutter and holds that value until you take the image, or release the half press. This way you can meter, and then recompose.

"A" seems to meter with half press. Is that correct?
