Hi all

I have got myself booked into an outside fund raising day for the RSPCA this September - all of my profits to be donated to the shelter.

Last year, I just shot dig**ally for the event, but this year, in addition to that, I am hoping to create a small mobile studio shooting with Fuji Neopan 400NC and my Nikon F5 accompanied by a backdrop, couple of props with some softbox style flash lighting to ensure balanced light across the scene, regardless of the weather, and perhaps an incident light meter. Then I'd offer traditional B&W silver prints produced from the film for a higher rate, ergo higher donation to charity.

I have approached a photography company and they may be interested in lending me said lighting equipment in return for a sponsorship banner at the event.

Problem is, I've never used such equipment!! I've always relied on natural light and\or my SB-800, and my Portaflash reflector!! Is this kind of setup likely to be beyond me? How easy is it to grasp? How good is any 'auto' modes that it might have? Would you suggest that I didn't bother with this setup on this occasion?

If push comes to shove, is there anyone near Derby (Derbyshire) who could give me a quick demo?

Many thanks

Ted
