I recently picked up an Auto Reflex 55mm 1.8 M42 lens in very good condition which had been well looked after.

It is an auto manual lens.

It has one feature which I'm not familiar with and have not seen before.

The depth of field focus scale ring rotates smoothly, it's not broken and the rotation is there for a purpose. It's not a preset lens aperture ring which can be stopped but is a rotating depth of field ring.

Any ideas as to why the ring rotates?

Thanks All.

Hi Agx,

Not the same lens. It might be the set screw. I'll check it out.
