I have this Rolleicord Ia III I picked up for a good price and decided to work on it myself to get it into working condition. Fortunately, the shutter is working very well even the slow speeds and B and T modes. Mirror needed to be replaced which was easy enough. Aperture ring was a bit rough but a little Ronsonal and it's moving smoothly. I finally go the film counter to reset with the use of the same Ronsonal, but sometimes the counter takes a few too many turns to get from 1 to 2. After that it's spaced out pretty good. Occasionally after pushing the button in the dial won't turn. After a few more tries it does. I have a sample roll to use to test this part of the camera. One last thing. The focus knob is a little stiff and I would like to fix this. Any ideas on how to fix these two things? I'm hoping I don't have to peel back the leather to access the side panels but will if I have too. If someone knows of a place that has a repair manual or the exploded views of the side panels that would be great.

Thank you for that info. I might have missed it but I didn’t see a manual for the Ia model III Rolleicord I have.

I might have good news regarding the film advance knob. The reset button stuck after resetting the counter might be why the knob spins but doesn’t advance get counter from 1 to 2. Moving the button “back” seems to fix that problem but more testing will be done before I put a roll through the camera.

Looks like I will have to remove the leather to access the right side panel to clean and lube the focus knob and film counter mechanism.

Worked out fine. Gotta watch for sun from the side since it flairs easily. Focus is slightly stiff but did well. I noticed a lot of scratches on the taking lens but it didn't seem to make too much of a difference. They're not deep.

Did anyone ever find a manual for the old Rolleicord Ia? I am considering doing a small repair on mine.

(I will post a new thread on this when I find my notes.)
