Rolleiflex version one panorama head not fitting on Whiteface Tele Rollei Type 2 completely

I just received both. The tab closing the camera back is just a little too thick to allow the 2 small prongs to seat in the respective receivers of the camera. I suspect this will not allow maximum stability and more stress on the screw mount in back. If I get the more updated Rolleiflex panorama head and use it in conjunction with the Rolleifix, will that work and still allow centering of the rotation with the lens and not the camera?
