Rolleiflex takeup spool stuck

Today I was out shooting with my 2.8D and after the first roll is finished I go to remove it and I can't get the takeup spool knob to pull out! I tried for a good 10 minutes with no luck. I put it back in my bag and 5 minutes later I try again and it releases without an issue. There is a Rolleikin adapter knob on there now, I don't know if that is the issue or not. The next 3 rolls popped out fine. When I got home I went to swap spools from the feed to the takeup reel and again, it's stuck and won't budge.

Is there something I'm missing?

Thinking of my Yashica 124.......is there some kind of spring or spring release (or washer?) on the spool knob which could be catching or sticking.

They get fussy on my 2.8E when I try to push the spool release knob back in sometimes. I think they're just fussy. But a good CLA should solve that. You are talking about a 60+ year old camera, after all.
