For sale is a Rolleiflex T, grey version likely from circa 1959-60, in very nice condition. This features the reformulated Tessar lens which many suggest was improved over the earlier Tessar versions. Film that I have run through this camera confirms that this is a very nice lens, with excellent contrast, sharpness and color rendition.

This camera shows minor wear in the body of the camera, but both taking and viewing lenses are clean, clear and free of any cleaning marks, haze, separation or the like. The shutter blades are perfectly clean, and the shutter and self timer are working properly at all speeds. The transport and focus mechanisms are smooth, showing no indication of tightness that would call for a CLA. Film spacing is good. The focus screen currently installed is a Rick Oleson bright screen with microprism center spot, but the original screen will be included and is in excellent condition.

Also included is the original leather case, which is in excellent condition with all stitching perfect, the strap with scissors clips, and an aftermarket lens cap. The camera will ship in the pictured Rollei box (note it was for a 3.5F), which apart from being of interest to Rollei fans also provides an extra layer of protection for shipping.

Price is reduced to $495 shipped in the CONUSA, net to me. PayPal preferred, but you cover fees if any. I am willing to ship abroad as well, but you will have to cover the cost of trackable shipping (likely USPS Priority International).

Thanks for looking.

“The rumored reformulated tessar was on the model 3 Ts”

I don’t think this is correct. John Phillips book The Classic Rollei refers to the introduction of the reformulated Tessar with the introduction of the model T without distinction among the different versions of the T. The only distinction regarding the taking lenses is that the last version of the T (post 1972) had the Schneider Xenar rather than the Tessar.

It is correct that my ad is for a model 1, distinguished by the grey finish.

Thanks. I could be wrong. I just remember reading for years that when the xenar was added to the lineup at type 3 zeiss also improved the tessar models in that generation.

That's a really nice looking example.
