I got this camera about four years ago, together with a Zeiss Planar 50/1.4 HFT, but never used it. Last night I played with it around the apartment, with no film loaded, and noticed something strange.
The mirror is not in exactly the same position before and after the film rewind lever is cranked i.e. the shutter cocked, which results in slightly different focus planes. As far as I could see, focus doesn't move when two shutter-cocked states are compared, but I wouldn't bet on it as the whole thing looks suspect.
I know that these cameras are known as unreliable (I have the Singapore version, in black) and this particular camera hasn't been used in probably close to 20 years (very hard to tell as it's extremely smooth in operation).

Question: Does this sound like a problem that could get worse by using the camera without fixing it first or, maybe, some exercise could help it?

There are no repair shops anywhere close to where I live and I am not particularly eager to invest time and money in sending it abroad - I have other cames that work well. However, this camera feels so nice and its operation is so smooth that I would love to keep it as an option.
