For sale is a Rolleiflex MX-EVS type 1 model from circa 1954-55 in excellent condition. This is the version that allows a decoupling of the EVS system simply by pressing on the aperture control button. The taking lens is an F3.5 Zeiss Tessar that is in outstanding condition, free of any cleaning marks, haze, separation or coating flaws. The viewing lens is in similar condition. The focusing screen currently installed is a Rick Oleson bright screen with microprism center spot. The original screen will also be included, along with a metal lens cap.
Cosmetically, the camera is in superb condition for its age, with fully intact leather (free of Zeiss bumps) and only minimal handling wear. There are no significant dings. All controls are silky smooth, and the shutter runs strong at all speeds, with no sign of hanging or sluggishness. As is common with this model, the self time does not function. Focus and film transport are both smooth. I do not know the service history of this camera, but there is nothing to suggest any service is needed at this time or in the near future.
This is a beautiful example of this classic model that is unencumbered with much of the later complications added in the E and F models (e.g., light meter, coupled depth of field indicator); I am only selling because I am not shooting that much film these days and still have a recently overhauled Rolleicord.
Price reduced to $435 shipped in the CONUSA, net to me. PayPal preferred, but you cover any fees. I will ship abroad, but you will have to cover the cost of trackable shipping.
Thanks for looking.
