For sale is a beautiful Rolleiflex MX-EVS Type 2 (serial # 1724***) in excellent condition. This model has a very nice Zeiss Tessar lens that is clean and clear, free of any cleaning marks, haze, fungus or other blemishes. The viewing lens is in similar condition. Cosmetically the camera is in outstanding condition considering its age of roughly 65 years. There is hardly a scratch of finish loss anywhere, and all leather is intact. There is a very slight indentation on the front of the focusing hood, but this is so subtle I don’t think you can even see it in the photos.
Functionally the camera is perfect having been CLA’d in March 2020 at ProCamera in Virginia, at which time a new bright screen from Rick Oleson was installed (and focus calibrated to the screen). You will also note a Harry Fleenor sticker inside the camera; he did a shutter overhaul in 2014. Recent film shot with the camera shows perfect focus, proper shutter speeds, and good film spacing. The self timer works, and the focus and transport mechanisms are smooth as silk.
Included with the camera are a lens cap, a very nice custom leather strap, the original leather case (which shows a good bit of wear but is still functional), two prior focus screens (the original ground glass screen and a prior bright screen with split image spot), and the CLA paperwork.
