Rolleiflex flash sync repair

My new Rolleiflex won't trigger a flash, I suspect that maybe a contact has rusted out or come loose. I'm thinking about opening the camera up and trying to fix it myself. Is this a really bad idea? Just wondering if anyone out there has tried this before.

I would send it off, I am sending one off for a CLA if I can ever get to the UPS store. CHeck on down I asked for repair persons early last week and recieved several replies.
