Rolleiflex E2 film advance problem..

OK, Here is a new one for me. My Rolleiflex E2 is perfect, except...I load it and shoot all 12 frames...great. BUT then...instead of the crank free-turning until the film is wrapped completely around the spool, the camera advances yet one more frame and cocks the shutter as if there is still film in it, but the counter stays at number12. I can keep 'shooting' the about three or four frames it takes to spool up, but the crank never turns freely. I can live with this but it does bother me a bit. I hope I am making sense. Has anyone ever experienced this? Is it an easy fix?

Probably it is the same problem I have with my Cord:

Last 'teeth' of the counting frame gear are just broken, I can live it with perfectly.

That's how it normally looks if I remember correctly.

Just a guess, but is this roller free floating? It is what senses the start and end of the film according to thickness.

On the second shot of the Rolleicord counter dial- left side, with the black circle- there are three teeth stripped away to the left side of the section without gears. With those teeth in place, after 12 the counter dial will rotate to the section without teeth, the pawl that drops into the metering dial slot and stops the wind mechanism has no place to drop, and the wind lever can freewheel and you wind off the roll. With the teeth stripped away, the mechanism plays Ground Hog Day and keeps winding, having the pawl drop and stop winding, again and again.

That could be what is going on, but I am not certain. Once the repair guy operates the camera with the side removed, he'll see where the problem is.

I didn't notice that when I first looked.
