Rolleiflex E Question

I have this beautiful Rolleiflex E, Serial Number 1626199 witha a superb Planar Lens Number 1866563. What I am beginning to wonder is, is it an E1, E2 ,or an E3? I don't seem to be able to find out. Does any one know how to find out? I don't. I would greatly appreciate any help to figure this one out. Thanks, Logan

All in all, everything points to a '1' I think that the 2 and 3 have the removable focus hood.

For me, the E1 hits the height of the basic Rolleiflex. They had refined every aspect of the camera and were in full stride. After this, they needed to add feature after feature- removable hood, metering, coupled metering... which took away from the pure Rolleiflex experience. And yes, I know, very debatable opinion.

Condition is more important than specific model for Rolleiflexes all in all. Enjoy your camera.

Sounds like an early E1, I have a D with serial number 1617221 which is maybe one year older and from 56.
The E1 does not have removable hood but the E2 and up does. Great cameras.

No removable hood ... dead giveway... thanks, guys ... I appreciate the help. The plannar is what I rellay want to be sure of. That ices it for me. With that I shall be happy.
