ROLLEIFLEX AUTOMAT

I bought this on EBay but didn't check the photos carefully. There is a lever, the one with the screw head next to the post. When the shutter button is pressed it travels and trips the shutter. I have never seen this on a ROLLEIFLEX. Also I'm guessing the posts, there are 2, one near the body center and the one pictured are possibly to attach a flash unit, they can be unscrewed. Has anyone seen such an adaptation?

Yes, for a flash solenoid attached to the two posts on that side.

When you press the shutter release button, you are not directly releasing the latch that lets the shutter fire. You are pressing on a lever that then presses on another lever which rotates against a latch extending out of the shutter. This latch is about where that extra lever on the right is on the shutter body. You'll notice if you hold the shutter button on the left, it doesn't need to move for the lever on right to release the shutter, but you won't get the other way around. I am not certain who made them but this extra release lever was not uncommon.

I had a Rolleiflex Automat with a lever like that. It didn't have the posts for a solenoid, though, but it had a PC flash socket, so it probably had a solenoid at one time and the posts removed later when the PC socket was installed.
