Rolleiflex 3,5 E + IR-filter?

So, as I am going to order some film and stuff from Fotoimpex, I decided to try out some efke IR 820. I would like to be able to use my new Rolleiflex 3,5 E Planar, since the film is available in 120. But what about filter?

I never tried IR-films before and would like something that would give a good IR-effect, and googling tells me I should use something like an 89B-filter.

But how can I find something like that? All Bay II-filters seem to be really expensive and I haven't found any IR-filters at all. I also tried to find some sort of converter to, for example, 52mm, but couldn't find anything.

Anyone solved this?

I used a 52mm filter, Hoya R72, and step up rings from this place : http://www.srb-griturn.com/ They make an adapter from Bay II to an intermediate filter thread, and then I used another one from that to 52mm.

I think its possible to order B&W IR filters in all the different Rollei Bayonet mounts. This is, however, a quite expensive solution.

Another way to go is to hold a filter, perhaps fitted with a lens shade, in front of the lens. You have to have the camera mounted on a tripod anyway when shooting IR 820 - so it’s not too much of an inconvenience. It is hardly an optimal solution, but I tried it a few weeks ago and it works surprisingly well with a Rolleiflex.

I have shot some Konica IR with my Rollei and I just used a deep red filter. It seemed to give the IR look. I also used the standard Rollei orange filter with the konica IR shooting some nudes and it was realy nice. Alabaster skin with some blue veins showing through.. sounds creepy but I liked it.

Thanks everyone for the quick suggestions. I ordered the adapter and stepup ring from srb-griturn.com. Now I can use it with my 150 mm Nikon lens for my Tachihara as well.

There are original IR filters for Rollei TLR:s. They even compensate for the difference in focus.

KEH has 2 Bay II IR filters right now. Click Dead Link Removed or Dead Link Removed. Please post some results if you end up getting one. Been interested in getting one myself but, have yet to take the plunge.
