Hey all, I just picked up a Rolleiflex 2.8GX and there is an issue with the meter. Now, I don't mind using it without a meter but I'd like to see if anyone has experienced this issue and how complicated of a repair it was.

The meter LED's inside the GG do not turn off. Per the manual they're only supposed to remain on for 2 seconds after a half suppression.

I emailed Fleenor who told me he doesn't work on GX models.

Those LED lights are really annoying IMO. I took the battery out of my FX straight away and never put them back in.

Steve's Camera in Culver City, CA worked on my 2.8GX when it had an issue with the shutter and aperture dials being too stiff. You can drop them a line.
I love the leds in mine, the semi-spot meter is excellent. If it didn't have that, I'd just use my 2.8E. (the improved focusing screen on the GX is great too)

The ON/OFF-switch for the LED's is part of the shutter release mechanism. May be the switch is just "hanging". Try pressing the release button a number of times. It may free the switch. Good luck.
