Rolleiflex 2.8F with extras: value?

Hi all!

I'm bring offered a Rolleiflex 2.8F (version 1), which I gather, according to the Rollei price guide, is worth around US$900 to 1300. I haven't seen the camera in person yet, but it's still got original packaging, etc etc. I'll see when I get there.

There are a bunch of sundries that come with it:

Manuals in German and English, along with
Rolleikin adapter, original packaging
Prism finder, original packaging
Original eveready case
Lens hood, original packaging
Panorama head, original packaging

What, in peoples' opinion, are the extras worth?

There are two ways of looking at this lot: you're a collector and the boxes have value to you (or when you sell them on), or you're not so much a collector as a user, in which case you should focus on what's useful -- the prism, case, lens hood and panorama head. I'd say the prism is worth $150 or so, the case around $80, the hood maybe $40, and the panorama head perhaps $70. The Rolleikin is not something, I believe, that many Rollei users use. Now, as I'm also interested in collecting items somewhat, I would personally give value to having the boxes. I'd probably factor all of them together as being worth $100 or a bit more if the camera box is available and in good condition. Just my opinions...

Manuals in German and English $15 - $25 each in excellent condition
Rolleikin adapter, original packaging $not very much
Prism finder, original packaging $175 - $250
Original eveready case $0 - $150 depending on the buyer. I've never paid 'extra for one', as they just sit on a shelf.
Lens hood, original packaging $50 in average condition to $100 in near new condition.
Panorama head, original packaging $depends on the version (old vs. new) and will range from about $35 to $100.

What, in peoples' opinion, are the extras worth?

Just my thoughts based on recent experience.

So I have since had a look at the camera, and run a roll of film through it.

Everything is in excellent condition, the camera even in 'minty' conditon. It was definitely used, but with care.

The light meter works, and seems spot on. The focusing screen is clean, the shutter is sound, and the shutter speeds seem to be on the dot.

I am personally unlikely to use the prism, since one of the things I *like* about TLRs is the layer of abstraction that comes with seeing the subject left-right reversed, but it's in excellent condition. I'm actually more likely to experiment with the Rolleikin, especially seeing as I have a bunch of bulk 35mm film kicking around.

I don't care too much about the boxes either, save that their presence indicates that the camera was stored with care. Everything is squeaky-clean; it's uncanny.

Looking at it, the panorama head is in fact the tripod quick release, which in my opinion is more useful to me than the pano head, seeing as I already have a Manfrotto geared head.

Anyway, while the seller's asking price is a little higher than I had planned, I think I'm going to meet him halfway. Now if only someone had some Bay3 Rolleinars....
