Rolleiflex 2.8F repair manual describes following procedure to check if an exposure meter pointer control is correctly calibrated: set the ASA index at 25, set the filter factor to 0, set the shutter speed to 1/2 of a second and diaphragm at F8. The exposure meter pointer should now be "over the red dot to the left of center of the exposure meter dial".

The problem is on my 2.8F the red dot is pretty much invisible to the point I don't know if my pointer is calibrated OK or not. Could anybody with a working 2.8F meter share a picture showing their's Rollei meter's pointer control after performing the procedure above?

On some photos online I can see faint red marks but none on my example.

Can you please share a photo (taken from the top) showing where is the pointer in your Rolleiflex after setting the aforementioned parameters?

For the record, here is my Rolleiflex's pointer after setting ASA 25, filter factor 0, shutter to 1/2 sec. and diaphragm to F8.

I see it, on some photos online there are meters with several marks like this however on my example it is so faint that with a naked eye I couldn't tell if it was painted intentionally or not. Now as I look at the enlarged photos I can see it is a mark - it is not a dot however!

And, as you can see, my pointer doesn't agree with the mark. Manual says that when the pointer is too far away from the red dot (more than 1/16") it means that the pointer rack was not in it's down position when the front plate was assembled - and I am sure on my camera it was in it's down position because I checked it several times.

Hence before further examination I'd like to look at other people meters...

My 3.5f says to cover the cells and the needle should point to the long red line at left.

Yes, that's right but that refers to a calibration of the meter needle, while I was writing about calibration of the meter pointer - the one with a circle at the end.
