Reality check, no matter what you replace them with they are not original to your camera. Find the accessories you like and buy them.
I had occasion to need 2 x Rollei lens protectors which I purchased from a Chinese seller on Ebay! Whilst awaiting delivery, I was a bit apprehensive as to whether I had done right or not. However , when they arrived , one for my 3.5f, and one for my 2.8f, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of them. I would say, they were the equal of the Rollei originals. I have since then,I have 2.8F K7F Model, which is, based on the serial number produced at 1960. I'm not the original owner, and I bought this used in great condition.
However, the case wasn't in that great condition, and I'm not sure if it's the original that came with this particular camera, or it was bought and paired afterwards. The seller also wasn't sure because he acquired it years ago from someone else. I see there are two (or more?) types of cases that fits 2.8F model — one with the metal logo on the front and one without.
Also, I got the original Rolleiflex black plastic cap with it, but I'm not sure if it originally came with this camera, or the previous owners replaced it with the new one. I like more the metal one (satin or chrome), but I'd rather have the one that came originally with this camera.
I'd like to know these things, so if I find an accessory in a better condition, and want to replace the current ones, I could match it with those that came with this particular model.
Anyone knows this? I tried to find this info, but had no luck.
Check with Tim at Filterfind.net. Tim has a wide assortment of filters, sorted by size and properly graded. He's solved several "problem" filter needs for me, for example, my Zeiss Contessa lens is threaded on the OUTSIDE. Tim found an Endalite series adapter, several filters, a lens shade, and a nice leather case for the whole ensemble. Tim is the "go-to" man for filters, lens shades, etc. You're thinking like me, wanting it to feel as original as possible. Get the chrome lens caps. The satin ones look very nice, but came later (think the F-cameras with matte leatherette and focusing scale in both meters and feet).
The case for my, now sold, 2,8F didn't have the pocket for the planglas/flat glass, and the case for my 3,5F doesn't have it either.
A good accessory, if you don't already have it, is the Rolleifix tripod quick release.
For filters, don't bother as much with getting period ones. Most of the Bayonet III filters you'll find are Rollei ones, single coated. B+W or Heliopan filters are high quality and also single coated. I'm sure you can buy new multi-coated filters if you want. For my pre-war Rolleis I have many uncoated filters that work great, but I prefer to use coated ones to avoid problems with flare or contrast.
Form whom did you buy those protectors? I’m looking for one myself since my 2.8D didn’t come with any…I had occasion to need 2 x Rollei lens protectors which I purchased from a Chinese seller on Ebay! inherited another 2.8f and a Rolleicord, both beautiful condition ! Re; the point made of differences in the manufacturing of the camera cases . It occurred to me, that during the 60's Rollei fitted a provision to the 2.8f and the 3.5f of a facility to use 220 roll film, this necessitated the insertion of a switch window above the wind on handle .
