I've a Rollei 2.8E, already shot about 20 rolls with it, and no problem so far.
Actually, there's one, and that is won't fire if a shutter release cable is used.

Here's the video:

The same shutter release cable works OK on my Rolleicord, Olympus OM-1/OM-2 SLRs, and Minolta SRTs.
As you can see, no matter how deep the shutter cable is pressed, the Rollei's shutter won't fire. Interestingly, if the shutter cable is unscrewed from the camera, you'll notice that it's already fully extended. It guess it's not long enough to extend inside the Rollei shutter button?

We are having a small social restriction in Jakarta, so I couldn't visit my favorit camera repair workshop. But will do, after the restriction is lifted up.

For giggles or a test use a thin blade screwdriver or very stiff piece of wire and try to release the shutter with one of them.
Shutter releases - measure the depth needed to release the shutter.
Shutter will not release - internal levers loose or improperly installed.

Vintage shutter release cables were either 5/8 inch / 16mm plunger length or 3/4 inch / 19mm plunger length. Modern cable release are 5/8.

I often find the tips of cable releases broken off in the socket on the camera and this prevents the cable release from working. Carefully look inside the socket for a broken tip. They can be worked out with a small slotted screwdriver.
