Rolleiflex 2.8C - can't set shutter speed

My newly acquired Rolleiflex 2.8C appears to have a problem with changing shutter speeds. I did some testing with some of the faster speeds and all was well. I then switched to "B" to check out the lens glass; no problem there either.

But now it won't let me move the speed dial past 1/5 second to get back to the faster settings. I feel it clicking, as if gears are slipping past each other instead of being properly engaged.

Have I missed something with the speed & aperture controls, or is this a repair issue?

Could be the dread shutter / aperture interlock, if the camera is so equipped. A 'C' just may be, but I cannot remember. If the interlock is present, you should be able to to disarm it by inspecting the faces of the adjustment wheels and figuring out how to disengage the interlock. Once you know what you are looking for it should be easy to figure. I think it is engaged/disengaged by pressing in and rotating 90 or 180 degrees. I will try to find a camera so equipped and confirm for you.

Edit: Found an interlock camera. If you look closely at the blowups, you can see that the slot in the smallest chrome circle has rotated 90 degrees relative to the little etched semi-circles in the right hand knurled wheel. Just a gentle push and turn does the trick.

Are you pushing in the chrome button on the edge of the wheel while you turn it?

2.8C does not have EV interlock.

Yes, I am. I am able to move it between "B" and 1/5.

Well now, that doesn't sound too good. 60 year old cameras can get a little cranky. I've had to have both my slightly younger (50 years) Rolleis serviced recently.

They have to take the front off the CLA the lens anyway, so they should be able to fix that up during a CLA (but then, maybe not if you are missing some teeth on the mechanism).
