I am selling a Rolleiflex 2.8 C which I purchased for the sole purpose of removing its shutter release button to repair another Rolleiflex 2.8 C. I am now selling what's left of this camera to others who need Rolleiflex 2.8 parts. This camera is a rich resource of Rolleiflex 2.8 parts for those engaged in the repair and restoration craft of these cameras. Such parts are quite hard to find these days, at any price or in any condition.
This camera is missing at least the following:
- The taking lens
- The shutter release button and perhaps some parts associated with that
- The entire reflex mirror, viewing screen, and magnifier viewer assembly
- Part of the focusing knob (it still focuses)
- The film spool knob
- The trim plate on the rear with exposure advice
The viewing lens needs cleaning, but can cleaned and reused.
Remarkably the shutter and iris appear to work quite well, and the shutter fires with seemingly correct speeds at all settings. You can fabricate another shutter release button with a small lathe if you have access one (and know how to use it). The shutter can be released now by inserting the tip of a small screw driver into the location of the shutter release. My repair tech said he could combine this camera with another parts Rollieflex he owns to build a working camera (and offered to do so). That is obviously a job for experts of course.
Sold strictly as shown, and as-is (no returns), with the shown small plastic bag holding a few loose screws, leatherette pieces, and other small parts.
