Hi folks,

Picked up a Rolleicord V today for £60, thoroughly chuffed with it but it needs a full CLA as the shutter blades are seized (I've checked it's not locked to protect double exposures etc but they are just seized up).

It's in generally good nick, leather is lifted in places so I'll probably swap it out at the same time the CLA is done however before I get to that point, I want to track down this missing part.

The viewfinder hood aka waist level viewfinder is missing the frame/trim around it and from on top of it.

I'm wanting a correct one ideally for this model (included a picture of a complete one), but am open to compatible ones of other models if I can't source the correct one.

Don't mind where it's from, just not looking to spend a fortune as otherwise I'll probably just sell her on, but I'd really like to get her up and running.

If anyone has one or knows of where I can try please let me know!

Many thanks,
TT

The V and Vb use completely different viewing hoods. The Vb has the later removable type.

Thanks for the info! Just realised I've used the wrong 'example' image.

Your camera only has the sportsfinder flap, so you need a whole viewing hood.

Thanks! Only sports finder flap, as opposed to what? It's got the standard pop up magnifier too. Thanks

Look for the full hood assembly, not the trim piece. The missing trim piece is riveted into place- the four raised bumps at the corners are the vestiges of the rivets (or spot welds?). You won't find it for sale on its own and even if you could you'd be hard pressed to install it.

I'd get the shutter working first before spending time and money on a minor part. You can still use the camera without the trim piece but without a shutter it's not going to do much.
