Rolleicord Identification Help

Hey all, just looking for some help identifying this Rolleicord that I recently acquired. The serial # is 1039539, which leads me to believe that this is model IIc. But, the shutter speed goes up to 500, instead of 300, which is listed for the model. Also, I was wondering about what seems to be a second shutter release lever, next to the regular shutter release lever. Also there is a knurled knob on the front up towards the viewing lens, that I don't see in other pictures of this model. Just wondering what I have here. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Triotar is a great for portraits. Your's have bayonet for both taking and viewing lens and should be IIc.

Thanks for your answers, I had thought it was a IIc but was unsure. I am still unsure as to why this camera's shutter has a high speed of 1/500 instead of the 1/300 that is listed in the information I have found online. Also, I am still curious what the extra's are on the front of the camera. The extra shutter release lever, and the knurled knob near the viewing lens that I don't see on any other Rolleicord pics. Any more info would be appreciated.

The extras look like the mounting/shutter trip for a flash solenoid. I never really understand how they worked but you see them on Speed Graflex and such all the time. The solenoid itself is gone but the upper stud is the stationary mount and the extra shutter lever would be connected to the solenoid's plunger.

Many cameras from the 40s and 50s have a variety of additions for flash and such. Things weren't as standardized. And the designs accommodated custom additions quite easily. You'd be amazed at how much empty space is inside that Rolleicord compared to any modern camera, or even compared to a 35mm film camera of the same period. You could fit a battery under that non-wind side panel that would run your phone for a month.

Nothing to worry and those shutters will never go faster than 1/250.

it looks like you have a Model IId ( model 5 )
i can't really see which small knurled knob you are
referring to from your photographs
but if it pulls out a little bit and is spring loaded
it holds the film spool in place.
the model d's shutter goes to 500thS like yours
maybe the 2nd shutter release mechanism was an
option rollei did or someone's repair guy did to modify the camera.

Thanks for all the info! I suppose it could be a IId as well. I know there isn't much difference between the two models except for top shutter speed. I really just got it for the lens. I like the Triotar lens, and I was just curious about the add-ons to this unit and the shutter speed. I added one more photo here with and arrow showing the knob I was referring to. As was mentioned above, it could be part of a flash unit. The knob unscrews, but does little else. Maybe it was for mounting a flash unit?
