rolleicord fanatics ??

hi

i was wondering if any of you have rolleicords ...
i bought one last year that was beyond repair,
but i fixed it myself LOL ( don't ask )

i think i have a Ia model 3 ... any tips or suggestions you might have ?

i figure out how to reset the counter last night...

I found above link and it looks like my pictures taken with Rollei 35 S Sonnar 40 mm. When I use my camera with Kodak , I got these girlish colors and I switched to Leica. I could not agree with the colors of Rollei cameras. But I think lenses done with the BW in mind , try BW , Print dark and You will get something. I love Triotar lenses with BW and they cast a impressive quality , tones as much as I like it and results are relaxing not punching your face saying this is bw photograph.
I think you will get the same with this camera but it looks it needs a tripod and narrow aperture also.

I have a Rolleicord V which I like using a lot. The lens is very good and it just seems easy to use.

thanks umut !

those tones remind me of what i used to get
with a lubitel 66 ... a bit to vivid for my tastes as well ...
i will more than likely shoot it wide open, or nearly wide open ..
and only with black/white film ( or maybe a paper negative or two ) ...
i just loaded it with some plus x
then, in the coffee it will bathe ...

exactly !
all i have left to do is replace the GG

before i was gifted the lubitel i used a yashicamat 124g
which was a dream ( wish i still had it ! ) and this seems equally as easy to use / nice ..
plus ... it has that crazy counter reset button

You will be happy with BW. I want to add Triotar case that it looks like rotogravure newspaper prints. I like this effect very much. Camera is from the heyday of art , It feels like you are living at 20s 30s as seen as Hercules Poirot , Agatha Christie episodes. If I had that camera , I would proud with it very much.
I am still using Leica Mini Zoom and I am still waiting the clouds pictures been developed. If I like them , have it a go or buy a Rollei 35 with Triotar.

I use a rolleicord iii, and it sees a lot a action. It is my carry around camera. It is my secondary portrait camera, sometimes main depending on how im feeling. It is the camera i feel most confortable with. It sees all of my traveling work. I really love then lens on it. There is something about it. Its not sharp, its not punchy, its not dreamy, its just very mellow and at ease. She has seen the repair guy twice. One for shutter, second for transport.

Rolleicord

I bought my Rolleicord Va, my first good camera, in January 1958. Still works great, despite over a half century, travel, never serviced. The lens is indeed nice for portraits. As well as pretty much everything else. Verichrome Pan was nice in it while it lasted, and Ilford ISO 100 now. Or the 400. I've got fancier cameras now, but have taken some of my best pictures with the Rolleicord.

I have to take the front off of mine to sort out a minor problem. Occasionally when winding the focus back to infinity, it gets stuck on something and dosesnt go all the way back. A tap on the side sorts it out so there must be something loose in there.

is it normal for the camera-frame -counter not to be in sync with the frames
on the paper ??

i'll know for sure when i process

I also have a Rolecord III that I bought couple of years ago. First thing I did was changing the GG (original one pretty dimm). There is a fellow who sells better GG at reasonable price but I don't recall his whereabouts right now. John, if you need when I get home I can PM you the contact details of this guy.
I'm very happy with my Rolleicord, took some nice pictures with it. Mine has the Xenar lens.

new-to-me rolleicord v !!!

just got a new-to-me rolleicord v!!!

my good fortune brought me one in very nice condition - except sticky slow shutter speeds.

my first rollei TLR!!! (have a rollei 6002, i looooove in spite of its weight)

i had casually been reading threads here and at rff and at nelsonfoto about rolleicords. seemed the rolleicord v in particular has a quite a following...and then i found one priced about in the middle of what "they should go for" ...and the rest is...here!!!

i haven't been this jazzed about a camera in awhile.

the aperture and shutter speed controls move nicely without being too stiff or too loose...the shutter sets and fires as it should (except for those #@*!!#^!! slow shutter speeds).

the the viewing and taking lens are in good shape...the focus knob is smooth and the film advance seems smooth enough...

the back opens and closes without a hitch (no pun intended ) ...the viewing hood and magnifier work smoothly...

came with a rollei lens cap and a short padded strap. now to get a bay 1 hood and an orange filter for - my favorite b&w filter.

it soooooo small and light!!!

I have a nice Vb and all works well. I've had V, MX, MX-EVS, 2.8E/Planar. They are all great. I like the Vb as much as any of the others. Small and light with great results.

And I have just done it. There are a couple of spacer pieces which go between the front plate and the focusing mechanism mount with the four screw holes. They look a little bit like long thin spanners. I think some of the screws were loose and one of these was occasionally catching on something.

Anyway, it seems to work now but I must have put the front back on only to take it off about seventeen times until I got the double exposure prevention/film wind stop mechanisms correctly linked up!

In the mid 80's my father and I bought a secondhand Vb for £60, in beautiful shape and used it for years. It had a Xenar lens which gave unbelievable results. I still have large B/W prints I made at the time, the sharpness amazes me now, even after years of using a Rolleiflex 3.5f Planar. The 'cord is a lovely camera, real quality in a small package!

Mine has the Xenar lens too and I agree, it is a very good sharp lens.

I have stated before that if I could only keep one of my cameras, it would be the Rolleicord.
