I've had a Rollei XF 35 for a while now and I thought I would take it out for a spin.

It seems a common problem with these that the rangefinder gets out of verticle alignment. Luckily it pretty easy for a tinkerer like me to fix.

I loaded it up with Ektar 100. I was pleasantly surprised by the results. The images are sharp, contrasty, and the lens seems well resistant to flare. I have attached a pic of the camera and some examples.

A couple more notes..
The camera is the same size as a Olympus RC, but quite a bit lighter.
It is auto-exposure only. Unfortunately the only way to adjust the exposure is to use the ISO adjustment.

Hello,
I think, the XF 35 needs a mercury battery and the camera has no on/off-switch and therefore needs the lens cap.

These were all taken with an alkaline lr44 battery.
Exposure is spot-on.
Oh BTW, there is also a bulb setting. I'm not sure if this is mechanical or requires the battery, I will check later.

Nice shots. I have a couple of the Rollei mini guys (35T and 35S) and they are great lenses. I also have a Vivitar that was obviously new around the time this Rollie XF was around new. Forgot the model name right now but it looks almost the same overall. I guess this style had it's time in the limelight. Nice shots!
