I read on the SL66 manual that the tele-tessar 8/1000 takes Bay Vi filters internally, and then that SL66 manual refers to the lens manual itself. That lens manual is impossible to find online. If someone has the PQ version, I also wonder if they do have the manual for that lens, and if the internal Bay VI filter still applies, and especially how..

I can't answer your question, but in my opinion the SL66 body is barely rigid enough for a 1000mm lens. An extended tripod plate under the body helps stability. Probably later Rolleiflex body types are better in this regard.
(SL66 is my favorite camera incidentally)

Hi,

the 8/1000mm has an own tripod mount, see page 7 of

"Complete with lens hood and screw-apart tube
to take filters inside. Tripod
bushing on lens barrel."

Of course, I should have realised that. I've used the 250mm/f5.6 lens on my SL66 and I found it borderline, but I forgot about big lenses having their own mount. The 1000mm/f8 lens must be huge.

The 8/1000 is indeed huge, heavy (in its metal case, 18kg), it has its own handle on top of the lens to move it, and I had to have Arca Swiss make a large plate to fit to the tripod holder at the bottom, with its 2 screws. On the Hy6, somehow it does not like it when putting the mirror down manually before taking the shot (gives weird pictures), but using the self-timer works (less movement blur than using remote only).
If someone has the SL66 version, I’d be interested in discussing that filter holder that is mentioned in documentations, so I can check if it is the same on the PQ version.
