OK, so Rollei RPX 25 is more or less one of a kind. But what about the other two, 100 and 400? Is it worth the $8 or so a roll that b&h and Freestyle ask? Or is it the same as the $3.95 roll of Kentmere, which I have heard is all it is? I like Kentmere, but I'm not paying double the price for the same exact roll of film. Has anyone tried the new RPX 100 and 400? I haven't found two many film tests by Googling it. So far I don't see any reason to pay that much for one roll, yet it seems to be selling. What's is so special about it that they have to charge more than a roll of Delta?

Personal taste, so it's hard to give objective advice on a subjective matter...but having shot both I'm not sure RPX would be a copy of Kentmere.
I'm also not sure it's 'better' (in terms of grain and tone) than Delta, which is a fine film, although it seems closer to that than Kentmere (again, just my POV).

The only one you'll really know is spring for one or 2 rolls and try it out -- your cameras, your developing technique, your eye.

About the prices: it is all about where you live.
Where I am both Kentmere and RPX 100 and 400 are the same price: £3.61.

I fear Ricardo has a point. B&H and Freestyle believe that enough of its U.S. clientele believe there are some special qualities infused into the name RPX 25( a legend in its own lunchtime:D) whereas not enough of the U.K. clientele harbours any such thoughts, hence the prices quoted.

A few years ago I might not have written this but nowadays if you believe in "not believing" you might not be taken advantage of as often.

We humans in a crowd or company context tend to be a savage, ruthless species as I think Spock once said in an episode of Star Trek and the sabre toothed marketing/pricing tiger is especially ruthless and never to be trusted. Only the cartoon version of Fred Flintstone could afford to keep him in the house :D

Arista Pro.

Ilford prior to the receivership did supply for rebadging.

Since the receivership, Harman does not supply for rebadging.

It might be just like that.
I'll offer a secondary explanation: these films are distributed by different companies. It seems Maco charges more for its products in the U.S. than Harman and its distributors do.
