Hello,

Continuing with my education, I've decided to develop a roll of Rollei RPX 400 that I shot at ISO 800. It's not an important roll. So I thought I should use it. FYKI:
(1) The roll has around 20 exposures
(2) I have SPUR Acurol-N, SPUR HRX, Compard's R09 (Rodinal) and Kodak HC-110. Since those SPUR ones and Rodinal aren't meant for 800 iso, I'm guessing I have to use HC-110.
(3) I have Fotospeed SB50 (stop bath), Tetenal Superfix (odourless fixer) and Tetenal Misarol 2000 Antistatic (wetting agent)
(4) I will be using Jobo 1510 tank, needing 250 ml solution
I don't see any suggestion for HC-110 in the RPX 400 datasheet. The closest thing (to HC-110) I see is Ilford ID-11, which I don't have. Can you please suggest the safest option.

Alternatively, I could also try developing a Retro 80S roll, that I exposed at ISO 50. If you think it will be easier for a novice like me, please do let me know. Thanks a lot for reading.

Bests,

Ashfaque

I can't help you much, but can I suggest you look for the times for Kentmere 400 and Agfaphoto APX400 "New Emulsion". They might have times listed for your developers and these films are similar to RPX 400.
But, here are some combinations on the Massive Development chart:
http://www.digitaltruth.com/devchart.php?Film=Rollei+RPX+400&Developer=&mdc=Search&TempUnits=C

And here: http://filmdev.org/film/show/1094

Some talk about RPX 400 here: http://photo-analogue.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/rollei-rpx-400.html

I'll further suggest to you to bookmark those sites.
BTW, there are listed times for Rodinal for ISO 800.
But, for a start, if you never used that film before, I wouldn't go and push it 1 stop. I would learn how the film behaves at its nominal speed, then experiment.
It is always better to follow manufacturers instructions, then you see if you like it or not. Then you have a base to start experimenting.
Enjoy your films!

@ Ricardo & Christopher: Thank you both very much.

@Christopher: Thanks for the heads up and the tip. I didn't have those 800 info in my copy of the RPX 400 datasheet! I must have the older one.

@ Ricardo: Thanks for your advise. I wanted to develop this roll as it's not very important - contains some images from a restaurant. I'll consult Kentmere's thingy along with RPX 400's updated datasheet.

Hello,
I stand develop it in R09 One Shot 1+100 for 90 minutes (full stand)... Nice grain (for me)... Temperature do not matter... unless you are living in Sahara, ambient will be ok (I never even mesured it).. ;-)
Season greetings,
Fred

For EI 800 a friend of mine recently tried a strange method but obviously with success. Rodinal 1+50 regular development for EI 400, so 20 minutes with regular agitation, then 20 minutes stand development for inforcing the shadows. He says the negs are easy to scan and wet print.

Personally I have good experiance with the RPX 400 @ 800 in Caffenol-C-L.
