Rollei Retro 400 walks and quacks like Agfa APX 400

So, I was searching my film stash in the freezer for anything interesting to take on my Coast to Coast UK walk, and I found a bag of 10 rolls of Rollei Retro 400 in 120. I think I bought this in a beautiful presentation box in Vienna around 2008 or 2009. Anyway, I took a roll on a practice walk on Sunday. I developed it in FX-55 at the recommended time for Agfa APX 400, 12 minutes, and it definitely walks and quacks like my beloved Agfa. So, I'll definitely be bringing along four rolls on the walk.

Of course it quacks like the APX 400: it is the same film coated in Agfa's Leverkusen plant. However it only walks on one leg so to say as it was coated as type 135, not 120.
Maco bought up resting APX type 135 masterrolls and had them converted as well into type 135 as type 120.

I see. So the base is intended for 35mm? I thought the base was quite thick.

I just checked my old Agfa data sheets and 120 is coated on a 95 micron base whilst 35mm is coated on a 120 micron base. So that explains why the base felt thicker. Thanks, AgX.

We should say this practice was done in the past.The new Retro400 is No longer
identical with the original Agfa APX 400.
I am not quite shure about - just from mind - but are both films from Foma today? (Rollei Retro 400/Agfa APX 400)
