I have this camera, as well as the W version which has the 28-60mm lens.
This camera really is the pinnacle of P&S cameras, albeit in a Leica M9 size body. I compared the lens to my Leica 28mm Asph at same apertures, and frankly could barely tell any difference.
There is no other P&S camera that has a shutter speed range from 16 sec to 1/8000, available in auto and manual exposure modes all the time. i.e. no weird light level/exposure combo that unlocks the top end like some 'premium' cameras.
No other P&S camera has this wide an EV range. I think it is -2 to 19.
Downsides? Noisy and large. Upsides? The lens, the shutter and the full manual/full ae control just by turning one of two dials - shutter speed, aperture ring. Have both on A = Program. Have Aperture on A, Shutter speed on anything else = Shutter priority. Shutter on A, Aperture on anything else = Aperture priority. Both on anything apart from A = manual. So simple and quick.
Spin the focus dial to set it to AF, or whatever other setting you want.
Awesome camera! GLWS!
