Does anyone know of a source of good information about exposing and developing Rollei Pan25 film for ordinary pictorial type photograpy?

I've used it for a while, mainly at ISO 6 and 12 or 25 if there is plenty of light; good stuff but hard to get the kind of constrast and density I'm used to. My best results came up with moersch 's staining developers (12:30/22C or so, I can't find my notes right now) , but I suspect that pyro HD souldn't fall too far.

I have used it and I didn't have any contrast problem: I developped it in Rollei RHS, as written, and it is perfect.

I also developped it in Rollei RLS, but contrast was very low.

This film is one of the best slow film, with Bergger BRF 15 and PanF 50.

I like it in Exactol Lux rated at 25 ASA. Very smooth. Got some samples of negative scans here:

My results following the tech data with both rollei developers were truly dissapointing. As you said, RLS gave flat results. It should depend on what are you expecting of your negatives.

I've seen Rollei film in these wooden boxes for sale. Apparently Rollei recommends using its own developer, which is not available in Japan so labs won't take them. So far they've been sitting on the shelves untouched.

Is it sacrilegious/pointless/stupid to dip them in say, D-76 or HC-110?

At all, I did the first tests with HC-110 as it is quite predictable.

I've done a roll of 35mm Rollei Pan 25 in Pyrocat-MC. It was just a lens test. (I'm having problems with a Leica, and I needed a sharp film to test focusing and resolution.)

Exposed at EI=25, pyrocat-MC 1+1+100, 20degC, 2 min presoak, 2 min agitation to start, then three inversions at 5min, 8min, and end at 11min. More generous exposure would have been better for normal pictorial work. A bit more dev time might be appropriate too: I just needed a sharp image to scan.

The film has a nice clear base, and showed an attractive brown stain.

Before I started using Rollei Pan 25 I was a Panatomic X user so I have years of experience with this type of film. I develop Rollei Pan 25 120 in Rodinal 1:50 for 15 minutes, agitating initially, then at 5 and 10 minutes. Prewet, stop fix, hypo clear, wash, dry. My working E.I is 25.

The quality of the film is excellent, as is Ilford 50, which I am presently enjoying. I have not had any defects, pin holes or other problems. The Rollei appears to be a perfect match for Rodinal. It's not cheap but there is no more Panatomic X or Agfa Pan 25, I have only a couple of dozen rolls left of them so Ilford 50 and Rollei Pan 25 are the two very best of that speed range.

I’ve developed 120 Rollei Pan 25 using Ilford DD-X 1 to 4 at 20° C for 8 min. I fined the results to be very good.

Aurelien is right. The ROLLEI RHS gives sharp results so no contrast problems. With the ROLLEI RLS you get a hugh gray scale result. So it's up to you to decide wich result you like to get.

I use the PAN 25 in 120 rolls with my mamyia. For me this film gives me the best price - quality result.

No, Agfa APX 25 has gone some years ago.

The Rollei Pan 25 is a different film coated in Germany by Filmotec, an off-spring company of the late Orwo.

Certainly not D-76. That would be my starting point for any unfamiliar film. It's a standard. You know what to expect from the developer.

Develop in D-76, Rodinal or... its a take, more or less, on OrWo NP-15.
