Hi all ... I'm a newbie, location Sydney, down under, a refugee from 15 years of digital - Nikon D4 plus all the f/2.8 zooms.
Back into film now, with quite a collection of film cameras, the latest being a Rolleicord Vb Type 2. Struggling a bit with controls particularly the gearing of the Aperture and Shutter speeds.
So interested in hearing from other enthusiasts "working" with this beautiful camera.
Welcome! I had that exact camera for several years, but sold it when I got a Rolleiflex 3.5. The 'Cord is a fine camera, but I like the controls on the 'Flex more.
Great camera, you did well to get one. I was just using mine last week. Mine is nearly the same but does not have any of the gearing to display the aperture and shutter speed on the top like the "F" model. The aperture and shutter speed display are connected directly to the rotating levers and visible through little holes on each side of the shutter.
Good buy! While I use a 2.8F, any Rollei is an excellent camera.
There is a reason that Rolleis were historically the preferred TLR among all others
because of superior construction and reliability. Have fun!
And this is from a Zeiss nut.
